Lisa Sirkis and John Thompson are a wife-and-husband author-illustrator team. They have worked as creative professionals in various writing and visual arts disciplines for many years: illustration, copywriting, scriptwriting, graphic design, product design, home decor, caricature, and cartooning.
Their pandemic picture book, Lucy’s Mask, ranked as high as #17 on Amazon’s bestseller list in the summer of 2020 and was honored in 2021 as a Next Generation Indie Award Finalist. The sequel, Lucy’s Quiet Day is also available on Amazon.
Their art process leans into John’s experience in caricature and line work, as well as Lisa’s background in faux painting, particularly in color and texture. Together, they build characters with personality, charm, and a propensity for chaos.
Lisa and John received honorary storytelling degrees after years of picture book study, raising four kids who loved reading picture books again and again. And again. (To this day, flashbacks of WACKY WEDNESDAY, playing in an endless loop, invade their sleep.) Now those same children have grown up and created a new generation of little picture book lovers, who constantly delight Lisa and John and have the added benefit of being returnable to their parents at the end of the day.
Lisa and John live just outside Washington, DC, and in the brief moments not attending to all of the above can be found traveling, hiking, and biking.
Lisa and John are represented by Rachel Orr at Prospect Agency. Please contact Rachel at rko@prospectagency.com for more information.
